Etorch3

The Etorch3 is the latest all-electric torch for industrial roofing. It is perfect for drying all types of roofing and is the ideal partner for use with BUR, self-adhesive, liquid, heat-applied and single-ply systems.

The new Etorch3 is a compact, lightweight, versatile, robust and powerful dryer and activator for self-adhesive roofing membranes, offering improved performance.

Etorch is the only truly effective surface dryer. After one pass over the surface with Etorch3, the residual heat it produces ensures that the drying process continues. It dries deeper and faster than a gas burner, and works effectively in all temperatures. Our Etorch can dry over one meter per minute – and then the surface is completely dry!

With three separate functions, it is ideal for use on all types of roof systems.

SAFETY FEATURES

The Etorch3 is a lightweight, electrically powered torch that replaces the traditional gas version and provides a safer alternative for both interior and exterior construction applications. It is specifically designed to be held with one arm and is perfectly balanced for movement in all directions – tilt, rotation and circular motion.

The outer shell is made of cool carbon fiber, ensuring that the torch remains safe to handle even during use. It is also safe to use close to edges and building perimeters. A built-in overheating protection prevents the unit from reaching temperatures that could lead to ignition, reducing the risk of fire caused by sparks or vapor ignition.

In addition, the Etorch3 is equipped with 30 mA earth-fault protection to protect the user from electrical damage, thus providing a high level of safety under all conditions.

Power requirements and connection information for Etorch3

The Etorch3 requires the following power supply for optimal operation:

• 415V, 3-phase, 32A for use in the UK and Europe
•480V, 3-phase, 32A for use in Canada and the USA
•Earth and neutral are required (5-pin connector)

The power consumption is 28 KVA (22 kW/h), but only during active use.

The unit is connected to the control box via a 5 meter long hose with a protective sleeve. The control box is equipped with a 5-pin 32A male connector and is further connected with a 4 meter long cable. A 20 meter extension cable is included, which makes it possible to connect the control panel to the main 3-phase power supply. For longer distances to power sources, it is possible to buy or rent additional extension cables of 20 and 40 meters respectively.

The control panel has a built-in mains power relay that monitors the power supply and protects against external power failures. The Etorch3 will automatically warn you if the 3-phase power supply is not configured correctly – and will simply not start until everything is correct. It is always recommended to consult a qualified electrician to ensure proper setup.

Note: When using on a construction site without a fixed power supply, it is recommended to use a 30 KVA generator with a 32A 5-pin connector (red and white). If the generator has a 64A output, adapters are available for connection to the 32A cable plug.
